I don't think that is it.

I am reading the works of Josephus. It seems to go back long ago, when the Jews made peace with the Romans.

The Romans did not find the Jews unbearable and they were controllable by giving them things and security under their rule, as long as they did not go against Roman authority.

Many of the Rabbis were very cozy with the Roman Authority, and were given very Prestigious status. Don't rock the boat.

For those that did, well, they had to die. Easier for the Jews to go along to get along. Take the path of least resistance, and things have not changed very much.

Pray for Israel

Josephus is good but Suetonius is my favorite.

I have a few Jewish friends from Pharmacy School and they are totally LIBERAL except when it comes to the own lives where they are as traditional as anybody on this forum.

They all say the same thing about giving back to the unfortunate. To which I say: give to a charity the money is used far wiser.
