I would argue that we have learned nothing because
today's ads are qualitatively the same; they simply reverse the ridicule and contempt. Modern advertising depicts men as stupid, venal, helpless creatures in the same way that these silly print ads depicted women. Who can't imagine hearing, for example, "You mean a MAN can open it?" in a new ad?
We've learned nothing if all we do is change only the target of our hatred and contempt.
Some of the ads where women hit, kick, or do violence to metrosexual men are contemptible. A friend of mine recently said that feminism has given women a license to be as rude and boorish as men, especially in traffic.
