Ron Paul just threw Israel under the bus on Imus.
Excellent analogy! But I would change one thing. It's NOT OK, even to the Libertarian, BUT it's not up to government to do anything about it. Do I misunderstand the Libertarian approach?

Just pointing out the most current episode.
It is not an act of war when the embargo stops traffic across your own territorial waters. The right of a sovereign nation is to restrict or control the flow of external traffic across her territory. The Gaza flotilla was crossing Israeli territorial waters.
Pretty much their view, they don't even believe, for the most part, in 10th Amendment rights of States or citizens to decide locally what standards they want to set into law for their locality.
The man is an anti-Semite. Why is par for the course considered news these days?
A blockade is an act of war. Running a blockade is a dumb thing to do. It’s putting yourself in someone else’s war.
Why wouldn’t Israel be better off on their own on this? Oh, yeah, that’s right. Because there will never be an American president and administration that is hostile to Israel. That’s right. We’ll never have a muzzie commie in charge.
Israel would be better off doing what they do and ignoring everyone else.
But you expect Obama to help Israel?

Rand is much stronger on Israel's right to exist, defend itself and decide its own security.
Not when it is your own territorial waters.
An embargo would be an act of war....using an embargo to starve civilians would be immoral...why the fuss...Israel knows what it is doing and Ron Paul is just stating the obvious.
He’s a peach!
Except, in the libertarian world, there wouldn't be government schools to open up across from.
Losertarians are the worse....
I’m afraid Ron is going to talk his son right out of a Senate seat.
Nor would you be required to support or send your kids to those schools.
*Needs more coffee*
:-)
No, he's an anti-statist. He doesn't like any government's aggression against civilians. That's his consistent point of view.
Those of you who like the US intervention in Israel's affairs should know it is our interference that has helped to prolonged this mess. LBJ would not let Israel march into Damascus, for one.
Then there's Clinton's failed mid-east peace process.
You interventionists need to recognize you're the flip side of Pelosi's desires to dictate everyone's life in the US.
I guess it’s a good thing that most people don’t give a flip about Ron “Who?”.
That is the impression that I got as well. I sure hope that impression is the correct one. You just know the LSM are going to ask him that, and Rand had better be prepared...
I do agree that blockade is an act of war, but they’re already in state of war that is started by the other side. If the other side keep sending terrorist over their territory your country without doing anything to stop it, then under international law, Israel HAVE the right to cross over that border to stop it
