SANFORD, Fla. -- A 7-year-old Sanford boy was hit by a taser prong while police tried to arrest his uncle Tuesday, according to Sanford police.
A street crimes officer was chasing Reginald Hadley, who was wanted on several warrants. Hadley ran up to his sister, Antonette Jones house where she was sitting with her baby and 7-year-old son, Trenton.
Police said the officer shot the taser at Hadley, but one prong hit Trenton in the chest.
"He was terrified! Started screaming, Ah ah ah ah! I thought he was getting shocked," Jones said. "Ya'll tased my baby, what the hell?"
Sanford police said since only one prong hit the child he didn't get a shock from the taser.
The boy was taken by ambulance to the hospital to be checked out.
The officer, who is a four-year veteran of the force, will remain on regular duty during an internal investigation.
His name was not released.
Who is driftdrive and who forgot to give him/her meds this morning?
Excuse me, that should be driftdiver.
Do you know what the arrest warrant are for? Is it murder, rape, thieft? Or is it drug possesion, DWI failure to appear? If you have info please share it. This article does not have enough info.
He thinks that because I accept PBA cards from my union and give them to my family, I am corrupt and therefore I plant evidence and perjure myself with regularity. As if that would be worth my pension/benefits!
It's sad to see, but in his eyes, the cops can literally do no right. I even ping him to positive cops stories (not that they're posted around here all that often) but he refuses to take off his blinders.
I’ll admit that I love a good conspiracy theory but sheesh, this guy is nuts!
A street crime unit does not chase after guys wanted for weed possession or DWI. They go after the big fish.
That has cult classic all over it, like "Don't taze me, bro", or Rodney King's "Can't we all just get along?"
Support our law enforcement officers!
They are on the front line of the most difficult conflict short of full combat operations. At times it is hard to even see the distinction. Could some of our fellow posters at least wait for the internal affairs investigation before assuming the worst of our brave and professional men and women who have undertaken to serve and protect our society?
Thanks for your even and sensible comment, ladyjane.
LOL
“They are on the front line of the most difficult conflict short of full combat operations. “
really? wow
I suspect that you have a different view?
Wow. I don’t really care. Go away.
“I suspect that you have a different view?”
I suspect most of America has a different view including those with the facts. Many jobs are more dangerous than being a cop.
“Wow. I dont really care. Go away.”
We know that which is why we are outraged at the continued militarization of the civilian law enforcement and continued abuse of force. Oh by the way, we are your boss so listen up or find another job.
You really do assume a lot. And in this case, you’ve struck out. The method you use to “argue” your point is the same used by trolls since the discovery of the internet forum.
You are a troll. Right? And law enforcement is the subject that has in real life given you a chip on your shoulder. It’s the only way to explain this continued diatribe you have against other posters on this subject, not to mention the technique used to draw out the conflict by putting other posters on the defensive by flame-throwing outrageous remarks attacking them personally even when you’ve abandoned to support any legitimate, balanced or cohesive point of view that you previously held.
Attacking third party posters is a tactic to continue your fun by unsuspectingly drawing them into a direct reply. Hence, more troll-fun. Knowing that commenting to a previous poster favorably on this subject is the bait that would send you into a tizzy, I did, you did, and the hook was set. Allow me now to take the hook out, releasing you back into the concealment of the forum stream. Marked by the tag of pwnage.
Having a mild case of resentment towards authority myself I have to admire your efforts a bit.
Try the pit-bull threads they are fun also. Bye now, troll.
