There are serious divisions occurring in Europe as well as NATO

Not a good thing.

Amazing isn’t it? And they always accuse us of plotting to take over the world, oy.

Does anyone really give a damn about protecting people that hate us, anyway? The only people that really value our friendship anymore is the nations of Eastern Europe. Maybe we should forge a pact with them, and let NATO die a natural death.

Old Europe. The new NATO includes Poland and Romania, two allies that the US should never abandon. I would rather go into battle with either Poland or Romania than with both Greece and Turkey

Turkey elected its pro-Islamic Govt in 2007, so this was before 0bummer. Greece has never really been a NATO ally and has always been generally anti-US anti-Israel. It used to be that flights going in Athens were considered dangerous for its lax security.

As long as the US remains loyal to the people of Poland and Romania and Brittan, there will always be NATO.

Greece!

Turkey!

NATO!

No. The best thing would be that Obama, the great uniter, be on watch while NATO dies its long overdue death—setting up President Palin to forge the new military alliances with the linchpin democracies that will really matter—Israel, Eastern Euorpe, S. Korea, Taiwan, Colombia, etc.—as we get ready to fully engage the jihadis and commies around the world and at home.

The UN! (too)

Letting NATO die a natural death might be the best thing for it; certainly, it would be an epic slap in the face to the Euro-trash, who would suddenly wake up to the cold light of the fact that they would henceforth have to pay full freight for their own defense - it'd be fun to see just how quickly all those comfy little socialist welfare regimes would wither away.

Breakup of NATO? Why settle for such a small goal? Why not break up the UN!

NATO lost all credibility it might have had when it invaded a sovereign nation to settle an internal dispute. Now a member nation is backing a band of terrorist jackals against another sovereign nation. It isn’t at all hard to imagine a certain type of politician requesting NATO forces come here to settle civil unrest over a phony border dispute.
