I know that there are many Rush Limbaugh fans on this site so I thought I'd share information on the new book out about him.
It's by Zev Chafets and is titled "Rush Limbaugh: An Army of One". I had trouble finding it anywhere in town, which surprised me because I figured with Rush's name in the title it was sure to be a big hit. No one had it and I eventually ordered the Kindle edition from Amazon rather than the hard cover.
It was an excellent read and surprisingly, a very unbiased look at Rush's life and his impact on society. It is not judgemental about his marriages, his prescription pain killer addiction or anything really. Nor does it slam the liberals for their treatment of Rush, it's very down the middle.
For anyone interested in Rush, there's a lot of excellent background, including as far back as his great-grandfather's family and his hometown roots. I loved it and know it is something I will likely read again.
Please excuse the vanity, but I really wanted to share in case someone was wondering if it was worth purchasing. I found it to be an easy, very informative read.
Thanks. I was going to pass on it if it was a hit piece, but will probably check it out now.
Hi, saw your post.
I ordered my copy and received it in the mail from B&N a day after release. I’m about a 100 pages in (when it starts talking about the GOP revolution of 1994).
I can say the writer did a very good job. It was fun learning about Rush’s family background and where he got his political thoughts from.
Very good book thus far and I suggest if you are thinking about buying it, buy it.
You must live in a very liberal town. My community is very conservative - Christian and we always have all of the conservative books all the time. LOL.
I’m 80% through Army.
If you are familiar with Rush, there is nothing new to be learned.
I found it to be ho hum.
Albuquerque is pretty mixed as far as liberal / conservative, but I went to Hastings, Borders, Barnes & Noble and called the main independent bookstore and no one had it. They were all surprised they’d not gotten it. Neither Sam’s nor Wal-Mart got it which was very surprising as they carry most of the ones that are good sellers.
Maybe no one thought this would go anywhere?
Just started reading my copy....
I’ll look for it. A book review is not a vanity, so there’s no need to apologize. Thanks for posting. .
Maybe it was all bought out then? I am surprised as well. These places like to make money. Why don’t you order it on Amazon then? They ship very quickly.
I love Rush, know a fair amount about him, and would do what it takes to support him. If there is not anything new about him in the book, should I purchase it or not? Does it help Rush to buy it?

If you know a lot about him I wouldn’t buy it then. It doesn’t help him in any way and he said himself that he cooperated with the book because he knew if he didn’t, the author would write it anyway.
There are stories in there from his childhood and early years before he became successful, but only having listened for the last 5 years or so, I didn’t know any of them. You might be aware of his childhood and younger years. I found it interesting and was surprised at the efforts the author made to be fair and not judgemental.
But again, if you know a fair bit about Rush I probably wouldn’t purchase it. Maybe try to borrow it from a friend or a library.
Thanks Paved - I got the Kindle edition and read it on my Kindle (which I just love!) I was just hoping for the hard cover, but couldn’t wait so went with the Kindle version.
I know the feeling when I’m eager to read a book. Enjoy.
It would irritate liberals to have it #1 on the NYT Best sellers list
I’m sure it’s purposeful. I remember when “An American Carol” came out, and my mom wanted to see it. On liberal Long Island I couldn’t find a place anywhere near us that was playing it.
It eventually came on Netflix and we watched it there. Believe me, leftists have no scruples when it comes to censorship. Just look at the “fairness” doctrine.
Thanks leapfrog0202.
My copy is on its way from Amazon.
