There is more than a little similarity, the adoration of people on the left by their supporters, and the adoration of people on the right by their supporters. Frankly, I’ve seen Hillary’s mindless supporters, just unwitting to what it is she truly is. And I find it damned scary to realize we have people on our side who get instantly furious if you try to explain mistakes our candidates make.
Blind, ignorant, refusing to take any look at reality, support is blind, ignorant, refusing to take any look at reality support, no matter which party the candidate belongs to.
These blind mindless head-strong supporters from both parties a danger to our nation.
Even worse is we don't really even have any candidates yet. We only have potential candidates that stick to favorable situations that tell us nothing about what they would do as president. Even when they do finally officially run they dodge any difficult questions and come up with happy smiley faced answers. Mccain was going to cut every-ones taxes(when he traditionally opposed tax cuts) , Obama would pay for everything free health care, education, bringing back jobs by taxing the rich and leaving Iraq. It was clearly nonsense yet the horse-race environment created a fog to make it look like something serious was really being debated or that they had serious positions.
If someone builds up any live person to an unrealistic hero figure they will suffer the pain of having others drawn to bring them down and they will. GWB was that larger than life hero many years ago and it didnt end pretty.
I find that scary as well. Partisanship is fine until it turns you into a moron. I've seen it countless times amongst people of all political stripes.
I pride myself on being fair and reasonable. I can be against Obama politically all day long and not believe that he's a muslim or homosexual. I can oppose his entire administration (and I do) without caring about his wife's fashion sense or the size of her rear end.
