David was 14. He was ball tapped by a peer. A 14 year old is old enough to know better but it seems that anything goes these days. It gets worse. A 5 year old boy was operated on in Indiana for injuries received in a ball tapping.

Whew! Thanks. I don’t like to cause trouble or anything. I guess I was just appalled that this was going on. We have young boys in the family and I had no clue.

I just went to that site and got all confused. There’s a video ad for “Underjams” next to the ball tapping article. There are three little boys playing hacky-sack, kicking around this little ball, and then they tackle each other.
I thought the video was showing an example of ball tapping, but it wasn’t that at all. They were kicking the ball, not having their balls kicked.

But were you tapping him?
This stuff went on at my jr high in the sixties. Back then we called it "racking." There was also the towel-popping in the locker room.
Dunno if they're hitting harder now, but you definitely had to watch your family jewels when I was in school.
