Buried in this NY Times article is Obama’s latest disgrace, every President before him has honored our fallen troops on Memorial Day, especially during times of war and right now we’re fighting on two fronts….
…Next week, after a long Memorial Day weekend at their other home in Chicago, the Obamas will return to the White House and the Banghra will give way in the East Room to the music of Paul McCartney.

With the long Memorial Day weekend on the horizon, President Obama is finally addressing one of the great broken promises of his administration: his early pledge to return home to Chicago every six weeks or so.
In 16 months at the White House, the Obamas have been back home just once – in February of 2009. But they plan to make the trip over Memorial Day weekend, an official said. After arriving on Thursday night, they will visit with friends and participate in private events.
On Monday, Obama will make remarks at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, south of Chicago – missing the usual tradition of presidents speaking at Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day.
I can't believe he ruined the graduation of West Point cadets by addressing them. I guess he showed them for their lack of interest in his last address.

It is better that he stay away from Arlington. We don’t need something worse than dog crap desicrating hollowed ground.
Our current president is a disgrace to our nation.
Given that, he won’t be missed by those rolling in their graves at Arlington.
The timing is awesome. At a time when Zero’s approval ratings are at an all-time low and dropping, and in an election year when his party is looking at great losses, it’s great to see the community organizer sabatage his party’s chances even more.

Yup I concur with the others - he won’t be missed. It’s a bit like saying Jane Fonda is going to skip the Memorial Day Ceremony. Good!
Somehow our President has no problem clearing his calendar so he can: 1) attend a fundraiser for Barbara Boxer, way out in California; 2) attend a higher-end fundraiser with the “undespised” rich (i.e., those who donate to him and his party) at the California mansion of that weird Getty family; and 3) hurry home to DC from corrupt, declining Chicago the day after Memorial Day to present some award at the White House to Paul McCartney. So, he can make these “important” events; too bad, he doesn’t consider Memorial Day as “important” as this crap.
What a stand up, guy!
Eh, who wants the street punk there anyway? He’s doing our war heroes a favor by staying away.
