Has anyone noticed the increased radical protests of SEIU and other Community Activist groups lately?
Where are all these people coming from and finding time to get bussed in and protest on some Bank Executive's front lawn.
Are any taxpayer funded groups like Americorp and these newly approved taxpayer funded brown shirts taking part?
Any input would be appreciated.
I know we must have some ‘moles’ here who are possibly signed up to receive emails from these thug groups.
SEIU spent more than $704K on lobbying in 1Q
(AP) May 18, 2010
WASHINGTON The Service Employees International Union spent $704,495 lobbying the federal government in the first quarter on issues such as health care, jobs and consumer issues.
That’s up from the nearly $690,131 the labor organization spent in the year-ago period, and more than the $683,371 it spent in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The Washington-based SEIU lobbied on issues including defense, education, and agriculture in the three-month period ending March 31.
The SEIU also lobbied the House and Senate on issues such as energy, financial reform, campaign finance and other issues, according to a report filed April 20 with the House clerk’s office.
Wouldn’t surprise me. Right now, Americorps is voluntary, but if we aren’t careful, it will become an army of thugs, to which we may be conscripted.
Where have you been? The fact that you’re even asking makes me wonder if you’ve been in Antarctica with access to nothing but CNN.
If they can afford all this money for past and proposed political lobbying, WHY are they asking the American taxpayer to fund their pension shortfall. They should not be given one red cent to begin with, but they sure as heck shouldn’t be given any money if they have an extra $100,000,000 to spend on political campaigns and lobbying.
No I dont ever turn on CNN.
I am looking for concrete proof if anyone has it.
good question
It’s just another Third Way liberal trick.
Co-opt any activism so that it cannot counter you.
The government and administration are trying to nip any traditional liberal challenges before they’re raised.
That’s what this really is about.
I think someone could use SEIU/ACORN behavior in some powerful anti bailout ads.
Run a clip of a screaming SEIU mob outside the home of the employee of a bailed out bank. (maybe with some text about the bank employee’s teen son hiding in fear)
Then go to a clip of a nice house in a peaceful neighborhood with birds chirping or something. Run some text along the lines of...”While SEIU protesters rioted on the lawn of bank employees, the SEIU executive in this house was raiding worker pension funds to buy politicians. SEIU workers, where are you now?”
