"If things don't go well for Venus Williams at the French Open perhaps she can find some work at the famous Parisian Moulin Rouge.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion wowed the crowd at Roland Garros on Sunday by wearing a lacy, black dress with bright red trim on her bodice during her first-round match against Patty Schnyder. The black overlay material made the dress appear as if it was see through, even though it was not."

That billboard would have to be 5 times that size to get the real Wookie’s rear on it.

She looks like she’s 80 years old with all that chicken skin.

I thought Venus had more class than that.
Same here. I have long ago been unable to watch her sister play (unless she's getting beat!), but Venus I could watch (but not in a dress like that). I read she designed that get-up and is really proud of her work. What is she thinking? She and her sister are two of the biggest talents to ever hit the tennis courts. I would have loved to seen them play ball, consistently, without complaint, and without all this oddball attention-getting stuff. I don't think Venus will gain too many fans if she continues to dress with her butt so "out there."

Exactly how I feel. I finally gave up on ice skating, it went from dignified and graceful ladies to graceless little girls.

Tennis used to be a very classy sport.

Last time my 81 year old Grandma went to a Tennis tournament, she was beaten senseless, had her teeth stolen, beer ripped from her hands and upon leaving, she was car jacked by lunatics in the parking lot that couldn't afford tickets.

Is she a good player

Currently rated #2 in the world. Winner of 7 singles Grand Slams titles, making her the 12th greatest of all times. Her sister is tied for number 6 with 12 wins. Neither are likely to equal or pass Margaret Smith Court, who has 24.

I’d like a single plum floating in perfume served in a mans hat.

Yep, just about everything is cheapened to gutter level anymore. Perhaps it will all return to proper behaviors in the future. I hope and pray it does but I have no real confidence. Women don’t act like women anymore.

Well, if Ana Ivanovic and Maria Sharapova decided to wear those uniforms, no one would object. :)
