I’m with you Cherry. I am stunned that a “tv show” could affect me so much. I was sad for Jack dying, but before I could weep for him, I saw him reach heaven’s gates. My heart just jumped.
In then end, I was just amazed that this man could be so good, so heroic, so selfless and noble. Good job writers, good job!!!
James is the only man I know who could look good in taped glasses and a pony tail.
I didn’t watch it till last night from my DVR. I’ve watched the entire series faithfully and never missed a show. At the end, I see how each of their stories were involved and intricate, but I think the whole premise of the show was more simplistic.
I believe ‘LOST’ truly meant “lost souls”. They were all on Oceanic 815 and they all died in the original crash - it just took them each a while to figure it out. Each of them had things they had to do or finish before moving on.
At the very end, when Jack was in the bamboo field again w/Vincent licking his face - just as he was right after the crash - he saw the plane finally flying over with his last breath. That, to me, was significant of him finally letting go and truly “leaving the island”.
Then we silently saw the old wreckage - untouched on the beach. It didn’t appear anyone survived that crash.
I sure teared up alot last night. Bravo to the creators and writers of LOST. The entire series on DVD will make great gifts for people for years to come. You can always find some little something to talk about how it wove into the story and what it meant in the grand scheme.
I agree somewhat as like you I was more interested in the mysteries/mythology/sci fi material. But the characters did make the show very entertaining and while I’d really like to have an explanation of MIB’s/Jacob’s mother, how the island “moves” through time and space, etc., I think if they did try to explain them they would just fail and then we’d complain about their lame explanations. Perhaps better to leave the more complex ideas to our own imaginations, ha ha ha.
Mr. Ecko.
Mr. Ecko wasn’t in the church.
One of my favorite characters, who clearly redeemed himself.
Ohhhh yeeeaaahhhh. Love Sawyer.
ha ha—I loved those glasses!
You are welcome. i saw it and knew everyone would want to read it.
The actor who portrays Mr. Eko was offered a guest shot for the final scene, but asked for five times the money that was offered.
Get greedy, don't go to Heaven
I’m still crying over that last island scene with Jack and Vincent. Not that Jack died but that Vincent made sure he didn’t die alone. Kleenex!!!
I had thought the last scene would be one of Jack and Locke sitting on a log on the beach looking out to sea, waiting for the next group of souls to be stranded on the island — the cycle beginning all over again. Jack as Jacob, Locke as the MIB.
I wish Vozzek would post his recap, I’m just dying to read his insight.
It makes more sense that the island ended when the atomic bomb went off.
I guess they went home and met their twins....
Would have been appropriate, eh?
But they did pretty good with the one they had.
Nothing like a good dog.....
On demand has it done in 119 minutes. Still a few commercials.
Stop that before I start crying again!!!
me too! He told people to stop emailing him lol! i guess he wants to put a lot of thought into it.
