No wonder...it was just a few miles away.
I remember when Mt. St. Helens was rumbling and before it went off, I could be sitting down in a chair and I could feel some of the 2s and 3s from there ... If you were standing up and/or moving around you would miss it.
It was about 50 miles away from me in Portland.
There was another time that there was an earthquake in the Seattle area (or thereabouts) and in Portland, I was in a mult-story building and I was sitting down at the time (there was a cat there, too, believe it or not) and it jumped up and got scared, and then I saw the ight fixture swaying back and forth. I could almost feel the building swaying slightly, too ... a gentle kind of rocking ... :-)
