And it would seem that he did that on purpose for political advantage.
The political backbreaker for Richard Blumenthal in this is two-fold:
He cannot just chalk this off as being mere "misstatements" concerning him serving in Vietnam as he apparently let the media print his "misstatements" many, many times and he apparently never tried to correct them.
Secondly, Blumenthal didn't mistate, he mislead - the word which must be used over and over again concerning his actions.
Mislead. Mislead.
Buts Dems are already using the old playbook of 'policy trumps behavior.' They are already saying that Blumenthal has done so much for vets that that trumps his "misstatements" or whatever they wish to call this.
But that is like saying that a politician supporting handouts and benefits for blacks does away with him saying that Obama speaks in a negro dialect.
It would not.
What say you?
I think that any phony is going to have a hard time in 2010.
The “misspoke obama admin” You know he got his talking points or spin from Axelturf. I can hear it now, “They accept misspoke better than I am a bald faced liar.”
He needs to resign. He can no longer be trusted.
And Hitler made the trains run on time....
“The political backbreaker for Richard Blumenthal....”
At first glance this would appear to be a slam-dunk for Blumie’s opponent; but then I remember the predominant commie-lib climate in Connecticut, et al, in the northeast. And while I HOPE I’m wrong, I think that “broken back” is going to be miraculously healed by the “D” voters giving him a pass.
