Look at lasers for low light. A friend who is an old SEAL buddy is still a contractor with recent combat time. He swears by green lasers. In all but total dark, in urban and “suburban” areas, if you can see a bad guy, you can hit him with a regular visible green laser out to 300 yards. He has access to NVGs and IR lasers but prefers eyes-open with a green laser for getting the hit. You press it on with a remote pressure switch just before shooting, then it’s back off. He swears this works best for him, and he could use any gear he wanted. And this is something any civilian can buy.
I would like to find one that fits my front handle. It has an integral light holder. The push button presses the momentary switch on the Surefire and it has a cross-bolt type lock out so you don’t light it by accident. The handle holds batteries and bulbs. A laser in that handle would be excellent.
Been hearing of such here too...... no hands on just word of mouth per se . Trijicon has come up with a really small thermal sight that is really good for the range of the M4. Uncooled so that makes me wonder if it will last etc.....
I like minimal gadgets on a primary weapon. Sounds like yer buddy is on his game if his tools are working for him.
If ya can share the make and model of the green laser he’s using I would be grateful. I would like to try it !
Stay Safe !
Too bad they still won’t release the IR lasers for sale here. I will have to try out the green.
Thanks for the info. I have a green laser with a momentary switch on an AR clone. I’ve been thinking about an IR laser for use with night vision...
Maybe I should rethink it.
