From 51 to 1: 2010 Miss USA Crowned in Las Vegas
May 16, 2010
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A 24-year-old brunette from Michigan has beaten out four blondes and 46 other women for the 2010 Miss USA title after nearly stumbling in her evening gown.
Rima Fakih of Dearborn, Mich., won the pageant Sunday night after swimsuit, evening gown and interview competitions at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. During the competition, Fakih nearly fell while finishing her walk in a long, strapless gown because of the length of its train, but she recovered without a spill and went on to win.
In the interview, Fakih was asked whether she thought birth control should be paid for by health insurance, and she said she believed it should. Miss Oklahoma USA Morgan Elizabeth Woolard was first runner-up after handling a question about Arizona's new immigration law. She said she supports it.

I have seen a muslim woman at my pool wear a t-shirt and a jogbra in the pool (as well as full length swimsuits) then she would get out and take the t-shirt off. She was olive skin her white top would provide no modesty.
Schussell can be a little crazy at times, but I generally don't doubt her when she speaks about all things Muslim. She speaks and reads Arabic (as well as Hebrew), unlike many of people who portray themselves to be "experts" on the middle-east.
Her movies review are off. She liked Terminator Salvation.
This aritcle says differently.
Why, I haven’t meet PERSONALY a pro-life Catholic in the last 15 years. You would think the Pope is for abortion based on all the Catholics I have met.
This article says she is a Hezbollah supporter.
She liked “From Paris, with Love”, too. So, we saw it that weekend - one of the worst movies ever made....ever made. $25 and 2 hours of my life, I’ll never get back.
I wouldn’t be to sure about that.
She is a Hezbollah supporter.
More power to a Muslim who appears to have adopted Western culture. Call it idle curiosity about how her fellow Muslim brethren accept her free spirit.
According to the Detroit Free Press, she is a Muslim who attended Catholic schools. Her photographer is also Muslim.
True... here is one paragraph ...
Fakih's family is itself a blend of cultures and religions, including both Christians and Muslims. Though Muslim, Fakih's parents celebrate Christmas and have a painting of Jesus in their home.
If you are born into a Muslim family, you are a Muslim ... that's the way it works.
This is a Trump production. I wonder if Obama asked him to promote the Muzzi.
This is another example of liberal correctness in action.
Being from Michigan and being a Muslim helped her win this contest. I guess we will have an illegal alien chosen as the next Miss America.
Debbie Schlussel is a bat**** crazy woman.
She is a liar, it has been proven over and over and over.
She’s a Palin hater, although I still like her. She is nice enough to reply to my emails.
Debbie Schlussel is a bat**** crazy woman.
She is a liar, it has been proven over and over and over.
Well, at this point, one will have to be showing me that the winner is not a Muslim, since I see her parents are, and by what I know about Islam, is that if you are born into a Muslim family, you are a Muslim ... :-) ... I don't see any way around that one ...
And then, secondly, someone is going to have to show me how that the sponsor of the Miss USA pageant is not a Muslim and is not a whacko, himself ... LOL ...
If I get those two items taken care of and it's not as has been indicated, then maybe we can go into how crazy Schlussel is ... :-)
If that girl has arab blood, catholic or not, Schlussel will hate her.
Debbie Schlussel is racist.
I think Ms. Wyoming should have won.
What say you Perdogg?
You have any particular reason why we should assume Debbie is correct and the other sources are wrong?
Her father’s name is Hussein, not Michael or Joseph?
Jesus is considered a prophet in the Muslim religion (not the son of God).
At least that is what one very religious Muslim told me and he prayed at work on his prayer rug 5 times a day.
So, it's probably not unusual to have a picture of Jesus.
That she is allowed to compete in a beauty contest is the part that's got me stumped.
Also I would like to know if it is true about her sponsor.
Our president claims to be Christian, and his middle name is Hussein.
I have no dog in this fight, but Debbie from what I saw posted statement without evidence.
Quite possibly she’s right, I’d just like to see something other than a statement as proof.
