Message from Wendy Dio Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever.

He left a terrific legacy. Great vocalist. I came across this article:

He died very late last night or very early this morning, I couldn’t find an article to post.
Rip. Just loved Dio!
Like a rainbow in the dark.
I really hoped he’d beat the cancer. I guess they were putting a brave face on it.
There were rumors of his death hitting Twitter last night that turned out not to be true but it appears that today he succumbed to cancer.
“Heavy Metal Vocalist Ronnie James Dio Has Died”
Too bad. I hope he found Christ before he left us. That man had one amazing talent.
RIP, my husband was a fan.
How sad, we lost a great artist today.
From Wikipedia:
Ronnie James Dio (born Ronald James Padavona; July 10, 1942 May 16, 2010) was an American heavy metal vocalist and songwriter. He performed with Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and his own band Dio. Other musical projects include the collective fundraiser Hear ‘n Aid. He was widely hailed as one of the most powerful singers in heavy metal,[1] renowned for his consistently powerful voice and for popularizing the “devil’s horns” hand gesture in metal culture. He was collaborating on a project with former Black Sabbath bandmates Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Vinny Appice, under the moniker Heaven & Hell, whose first and only studio album, The Devil You Know, was released on April 28, 2009.[2] On the morning of May 16, 2010, he lost his fight against stomach cancer and passed away, aged 67.[3]
Poor guy. What a way to go.
I am too. Just loved him.. He did interviews on that medal show on TV seemed like a up and up guy. Once I heard he had stomach cancer I knew it would not be long. RIP.
Dio has left us, while legions of no-talent hacks live on. Sometimes, there is no justice in this world.
This is breaking news?
