There is not sufficient information in this story to conclude the dog is the problem rather than the owner; not even close. I recognize that a vet, someone devoted to caring for animals, would be unlikely to add his/her voice to a call for destruction unless that dog was a serious concern. But there is just not enough info. Additionally, there is nothing unique to this situation to indict the pit bull breed.

In this case I must agree w/ the pit apologists that this "news" story would probably have been ignored if this was a collie or a dalmation or any number of other breeds.

The judge ordered the dog to be killed after a hearing that included animal control professionals, vets and others testifying that it was a danger and would attack again. What more do you need than that?
