Caviar machines installed in Moscow

A Russian vending machine company has installed machines dispensing red salmon caviar and roe at 33 Moscow locations, including the mayor's office.

The machines have been installed at Mayor Yury Luzhkov's office and 32 other government and affluent office locations around the city, with more machines planned for sites including the Russian parliament, Britain's Daily Telegraph reported Friday.

The tins and glass jars of the luxury food, available in various sizes, dispense for $5 to $20.

The machines have proven popular with civil servants, leading the machine at the mayor's office to break down Friday, The Telegraph reported.

Cool...I found a Russian deli near where I live and got a 7 oz tin of moderately priced caviar(I thought it was cheap)and a stack of blini’s...damn that was some good stuff. I polished it off over 2 days, with wodka. For three days after that i had the worst heartburn of my life.

Probably correct. Anchovy paste comes out about 4mm in dia. if you use the spikey thing on the end of the tube. After measuring a Ritz and doing the math, those can't be more than 2.5 mm.

Thats pretty cool. I ran it through some idioms, to/from english to/from other languages and it was fairly accurate. Not to mention very interactive.

I'm way behind on that technology. Gotta see if Google has a talk series on Youtube on that so I can catch up.

That’s what I thought!

And then: why would someone waste $20 of caviar on $.12 of Ritz?

I’m one of those freaks who like chopped boiled egg with caviar...

When I was a kid and caught large minnows, I’d remove the eggs and saute them. Of course, that was back in the days when kids had to use their imagination and parents weren’t afraid to let them play outside.

I'm sure they're up to normal Russian food sanitation standards.
