I did not catch your query (dealing with life matters). I “heard “ that factoid on TV from an “expert” but checking with Wiki it says that in 2007 USA has 90 guns per 100 residents and Canada had about 32, so USA leads the way. Maybe it was handguns or shotguns or Howitzers. Whatever. The point is # of guns is not related to murder rate. If honest citizens can carry. there will be more self defense and bad guys may think twice before they try to roll an innocent person.
I wonder at what age infant deaths are counted. We have a large number of women who, because of various reasons, have babies born only to die before age 1 because of poor pre-natal medical treatment.
In any event, actual longevity stats show that the US has a greater longevity when all relevant components are factored in.

Back in the 60’s the press proclaimed Phoenix to have a higher crime rate than Chicago. It was subsequently discovered that AZ includes car theft in the numbers. Illinois doesn’t.
