I have not had the benefit of the Tea Party group thinking on this, but it sounds like a good move they are not automatically going to endorse Republicans. The GOP takes for granted it will have the support of these kinds of groups while doing little to earn that support.

If there are fiscally conservative Democrats and Independents (and there are some), the Tea Party should endorse them as well.

No matter how you think the money should or should not be spent, the first step is to stop wasting it so increased taxes are not necessary.

Is a politician actually a victim when the people vote for someone else? Are they really so entitled to their current office that by not returning them they are being victimized?!

Victim? Bennett is the one who voted for TARP and introduced 0bamaCareLite (with that Dem Senator from Oregon).

He's a victim of his own stupidity. He also vowed not to serve more than two terms which he promptly rescinded once he hit Washington.

Bennett tries to introduce Washington to Utah, not represent Utah in Washington. For that he is victimized.

This is an important way to move the party right. You pick safe for conservative seats held by a RINO. Knock off the RINO in the primary. It is a travesty that the party establishment has deliberately manuevered RINO’s into these seats over the years.

Hey Bob, you did some good while you were there early on bud, but darn man, you’re 76 years old, don’t you think it’s about time for you to get a real job?

After 18 years representing the western state, Bob Bennett, 76, faces the wrath of party activists who think he has drifted too far to the middle ground and become too identified with broken central government....Under Utah's quirky rules, without 40 per cent of the vote at Saturday's party convention he cannot proceed to a Republican primary in June to decide who will represent the party in November's midterm election.

The guy is 76 years old.
Seriously, there needs to be a maximum retirement age in Congress.

Frankly, if he’s 76, it’s time to move on. My mother was a big mover and shaker in her area, but she began to retire from boards and positions as she got older, mostly because she felt that younger people should have a shot at it.

The average age of our elected representatives, especially those who have been in their positions for a long time, is way north of the retirement age in any other field.

Term limits.

I don’t care if Bennett is a perfect conservative senator, 76 years is too old to still be doing that job. A man has got to know when to give it up.

I don't understand all week the snarkey libs have been on TV saying that the tea party is done, ineffective. They say only 27% of Americans back the tea party. Then how can the the tea party's effect any elections or candidates then?

Those who think the tea party's time has come and gone is deluding themselves.
