Welcome to the dark, seedy district of FR.

Yes, I’ve made comments on these threads stating that teachers hold positions of authority and have no business screwing around with students. However, there’s a contingent who thinks it’s great as long at the teacher is “young and hot.”

Crude material on FR is nothing new.

It was as if that guy was possessed. He was not human. It was spooky.

Well, I went there a second and that was it. Thanks? Now why again do you have that saved?

I don't have that "saved." I executed a simple "key word" search. I'm surprised you're not familiar with this feature of the Free Republic page.

See my post #62 on this thread.

I’ve always considered this the “anti-Mormon circle jerk” group. So, I guess such a story was bound to be posted.

No not anti-Mormon, anti-MormonISM. It boggles the mind that some people don't get the concept.

Actually, rather than "amusing," I find all forms of child abuse/molestation repugnant.

Glen asked you in post #50 to this thread, you asked "Would you let your daughter peruse FR with headlines like this?" I responded to you both that FR contained some crude material.

The point I have been trying to make is there's a lot of material on this website that is not appropriate for everyone. Fortunately, we've got great moderators who stop things from going too far.

As you told a poster in February (thread: The Fat Lady Sings for Keith Olbermann, post #91) -- which I now apply to you: “You seem really angry and unstable, please stop pinging me.”

Ex-pastor faces child seduction charges - http://www.jconline.com/article/20100506/NEWS03/5060331/Ex-pastor-faces-child-seduction-charges

—QUOTE—
A Lafayette man who formerly served as a youth pastor at a local church is accused of having sexual contact with a 16-year-old girl in his care.

Robert L. McFadden III, 40, was charged Wednesday in Tippecanoe Superior Court 1 with four counts of child seduction, a Class D felony — each count representing four alleged, distinct acts that occurred on April 12 and April 14.

According to Stacy Littlefield, lead pastor at Evangelical Covenant Church of Lafayette, McFadden worked as a youth pastor at the church from August 2007 to November 2009. That was months before the alleged seduction was said to have occurred.

I see that Colofornian wants the Mormons to clean their house first, but why isn’t he more worried about his own house? It’s full of crime and corruption.

Why isn’t he also making hay about the filth and corruption in the Catholic Church which makes what ever happens in the Mormon Church look like a walk in a sunny park? He might be, but I haven’t noticed any.

Paul Schaefer, 89, ex-Nazi preacher jailed for abuse, dies - http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/04/25/AR2010042503221.html

Paul Schaefer, 89, a German-born evangelical preacher who was convicted of sexually abusing 25 children while leading one of the world’s most notorious anti-Semitic and apocalyptic sects, died April 24 of a heart ailment at a prison hospital in Chile.
—/QUOTE—

Then there is all that crap happening in the Evangelical Luthern group.

I would think every group should clean up their act, it can all happen at the same time or are you saying that it should be just one at a time?

I see that Colofornian wants the Mormons to clean their house first, but why isn’t he more worried about his own house? It’s full of crime and corruption.

#1: Urroner, I didn't know it was "biblical" or "godly" to "worry"...(Is that what you've been "trained up" to do as "spiritual behavior?")

#2: Thank you for highlighting what you did about this "youth pastor." Please continue as you come across these incidents. Reformation, revival & renewal is needed in portions of the Lord's church...and the apostle Peter said: 17For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18And, "If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?" (1 Peter 4:17-18)

Paul Schaefer, 89, a German-born evangelical preacher who was convicted of sexually abusing 25 children while leading one of the world’s most notorious anti-Semitic and apocalyptic sects...

What does Schaefer have to do with the price of fish as it pertains to Christianity? (What? You got taken in by a journalist using the word "evangelical" in association with him?) This just reinforces how you & this journalist don't have spiritual discernment to distinguish between what is "evangelical" and what isn't)

Did you really look at what the rest of the article how to say about this Schaefer character?

What was his main "message" as "the gospel"? Jesus Christ? The cross? NO!!!

He traveled the German countryside with an acoustic guitar and a message of salvation through sexual abstinence.

Schaefer headed an apocalyptic cult, which are a dime a dozen. Did he run his operation like a cult or a church? The article you cited clearly lays that out:
...Colonia Dignidad's darker side soon emerged. Former members of the sect told reporters and Chilean and German officials of Mr. Schaefer's unsavory tendencies. He was always accompanied by a handpicked coterie of boys who ran his errands, brushed his hair and tied his shoes. He maintained total control over the lives of his followers, the former members said, forbidding contact with the outside world and using electric shocks and tranquilizers to punish those who broke his rules. Babies were taken from their mothers at birth and raised in a communal nursery. All adults were known as "uncle" or "aunt"; Mr. Schaefer was called "permanent uncle." Mr. Schaefer avoided arrest for decades, largely because of his close relationships with political and military leaders -- including Pinochet, who was brought to power by a 1973 coup d'etat. Thousands of political dissidents disappeared or were killed during Pinochet's rule, and human rights groups say that many were taken to Colonia Dignidad, or Dignity Colony, where they were tortured in underground chambers..."He allowed our villa to be used for the detention and repression of people persecuted" by Pinochet, they wrote. Colony members "became real slaves of Schaefer, like robots dedicated only to obey his orders."

So this sounds like Christianity to you, Urroner? You know, Urroner, the Mormon "living testimonies" I cite at least try to behave like Mormons. By your Schaefer shenanigans you couldn't even come up with somebody even trying to pretend he was a Christian!

All I hear from Colofornian and those like him is about some evil, vile acts of some Mormons or people who might be Mormon, but never about the evil, vile acts about any Traditional/Biblical/Evangelical/Fundamental/Orthodox Christians.

It just seems to me, and I could be mistaken here, that Colofornian is not worried in the slightest about “true” Christians© like him, rather it’s about us Mormons. He must believe that his house is already in order, without fault or sin since I never hear him worrying about it. Well...that or he’s just trying to distract attention away from the evilness and vileness of those who claim to be “true” Christians© like him.

I just find it rather humorous when he posts things about a Mormon or somebody from Mormon territory and is assumed to be Mormon, and tries to bring it out as a national problem, yet he lives on the other side of the curtain, telling us all to not worry about those behind the curtain.

Personally, I think that it’s just him trying to scare people away from Mormonism and into the arms of his brand of Christianity, yet the acts mentioned in those posts are also do everyday by members of “true” Christianity©.

Well, it could be that, but there are those who believe that once a person is saved and becomes a “true” Christian©, that person, no matter how vile his sins are afterward, he is still saved in the loving arms of the Lord, so it’s not important if a “true” Christian© commits such acts, so they should be ignored.
