Get a vet to give the horse a check up and maybe some booster shots because the flood waters were full of human sewage, animal fecal matter, oil, gasoline, and uncounted other chemicals.

So glad the three horses were saved; heartbreaking about the ones who drowned. It’s as painful to lose a horse as it is to lose a good, well-loved dog. They’re so helpless and so beautiful.

A client of our practice had a tornado go through his horse barn on Sunday...SW of Nashville in McNairy County. One quarter horse was wedged into a tree and took a couple of hours to get it out. Best we can figure the horse was lifted over the fence into the tree by the tornado. He only lost one horse but several were cut and banged up pretty bad.
