PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A police officer used a Taser gun to apprehend a fan who ran onto the field during a Phillies game Monday night, and the team and the police are investigating whether it was an appropriate use of force.

I know there are a lot of good cops, but there are way too many stories involving jellybeans like this guy who can't even run down a 17-year-old kid. Sad and alarming at the same time. The picture is priceless.

Tasers were originally marketed to the LEO community as an absolute last alternative before employing a pistol. Now that they have them, LEOs routinely use them as the first alternative.

Obviously the cop is fat and out of shape, but running down a 17 year old when you get older can be a challenge.
My dept used to have weight standards. If you weighed more than allowed for your height and age, you got suspended. Not a bad start, but you could meet the standard, but still be in terrible shape.
There should be a yearly or twice yearly PT test.
