(P I blog - not a story -
Russell Crowe celebrated the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last month by enjoying an all-night drinking session with his wife.
The Oscar winner was awarded the 2,404th star in Hollywood on April 12 and his plaque was placed on the sidewalk in front of the Kodak Theater, where the Academy Awards are held.
But instead of marking the honor with a lunch, Crowe asked organizers to host a bash for his family - and the "Gladiator" star was still partying with wife Danielle when the sun came up the next morning.
Speaking to British talk show host Jonathan Ross, Crowe says, "We made it into a great day. Luckily for me my kids are old enough now so they got to enjoy the experience... So we had a nice day with them. They usually have a luncheon. We said, 'Well, we'd rather have a p**s-up (drinking session) at night time than a luncheon during the day.' So the studio organized that.
"My wife and I - and it's a long time since we've done this - we were still sitting outside with a vodka in hand at seven o'clock in the morning... That's why I married the girl. So it was fun."
Yep! I remember those days of drinking till the sun came up. Can't do 'em anymore. Even if my wife said yes, my body would say, "Hell NO!"
An all-night "p**s-up" at my age and I'll be sick as a dog for the next three days. Don't know how Russell does it as he's older than I am. Though it's OK to have a lost weekend every once in a while, just as long as you stay away from firearms and motor vehicles.
We toured NZ two years ago-beautiful country and really nice
poeple.
In the grand tradition of Richard Burton and Richard Harris, Good on ya, mate!
I know what you mean. I remember staying out drinking until 4 AM, getting 2 hours sleep and being at work by 8. If I tried that now, I’d be in the ER.
I don’t know whether to lower him a few notches in my respect for him, or not.
Great was with his family.
Horrific statement about alcohol.
His liver should have it’s own star in front of the Kodak Theater.
Evidently.
Sigh.
Russell Crowe...Fightin' 'Round The World
Today,we're gonna visit China.....
Did you go to the South Island ???
Classic SP.
“You don’t edit Russell Crowe’s poetry, you testicle!”
I can’t stand this major arsehole either.
LLS
I just learned the gladiator fight scene involving the tigers used real tigers! I figured they were just very good CGI effects. The trainer said tigers don't "act" angry, they really are angry.
In Masters that is Russell Crowe actually playing the violin...
he learned how just for the movie...
Some of my fav music was used...
:)
Yes,beautiful part of the country. We only spent a short in
Auckland in the North, where we meet a fellow freeper.
I asked because sometimes travellers never get out of the North Island...
My father was born and raised in Christchurch..
His family have been in Christchurch and around about for 160 years..
My mother’s family were from Dunedin area and around Ashburton..from early also..
I think Russell Crowe is the only person in NZ who is not related to me
And then again if my mother was still alive, she could find a connection...
Crowe’s great grandfather’s family was in NZ early...
Great Grandad James Cunningham was a dear devil too..he got a fractured skull in a motor bike accident in 1914...
My father was a Hells Angel type in the 1920s...He and his friends would tear through little villages at 20 miles an hour and scare old ladies and horses...they were the juvenile deliquents of their day...
LOL
Yeppers there’s a connection between my family and Russell Crowe’s...
My dad taught his daughters not to date guys who wore leather jackets and rode motor bikes...
:)
Sigh...now that’s a man.
Can’t wait to see him in the new Robin Hood movie.
We loved Christchurch. They started to build adult townhouses
there. Every once in awhile;I say we should move there to
live.
His kids are 6 and 3, if I did the math right. What did they get out of this experience?
Yeah, I'll have some of the young guys come to work complaining of pain after a night on the town. I tell them, "If you're under 30, you've never had a hangover. You may think you have but you haven't. Just wait till you're old like me!"
