As celebs including Jessica Simpson, Alec Baldwin and Jessica Alba converged in Washington D.C. Saturday night to hear President Obama show off his comedic skills at the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner, one highly politicized star was notably absent.
Angelina Jolie, who recently returned from a trip to Bosnia where she met with displaced victims of the civil war there, was invited to the party but chose to skip it.

As celebs including Jessica Simpson, Alec Baldwin and Jessica Alba converged in Washington D.C. Saturday night to hear President Obama show off his comedic skills at the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner, one highly politicized star was notably absent.
Angelina Jolie, who recently returned from a trip to Bosnia where she met with displaced victims of the civil war there, was invited to the party but chose to skip it.
"Angelina is always invited by several media outlets to sit at their table, but she always refuses," a source tells PopEater.com.
"Angie is filming in Europe at the moment, but that isn't the reason she didn't attend. She didn't go because on her weekends off she would rather spend her time helping those who really need it rather than sitting, drinking champagne and laughing at bad jokes in a fancy DC ballroom."

I always have the impression that she aspires to be something more than she is. I like people like that, generally speaking. I remember seeing her give a speech somewhere on CSpan, and I was impressed that her remarks were thoughtful, that she actually had something to say worth saying and she said it well.
Jolie has the rights and has been working on and off on a remake of Atlas Shrugged.
I'd suspect that over the years there has been a lot of rubbing regarding Angelina but a lot of men and likely women too.....

Only the desperate show up at these things ...thinking it will help them in their endeavors...or to be gawk at by the pols.

Whether or not she is speaking with him in private, she has to know what Jon V is saying publicly.
I think the jokes are pretty funny, but if true that gives her an even better reason to be proud of herself for not attending. Quite the strong-willed lady to give up what to others is a fun evening, and refuse the invitation of a U.S president.
I don’t know of everything is okay, but they are speaking again.
I don’t get the adoration of Brad Pitt. To me, he’s a girly man.
There have been several articles about her thinking that the Big O is all talk and no action, and one even saying that she was disgusted by him.
