Conservatives Rallying To Chuck DeVore in California Senate Race

... For conservatives, there is one choice to put up against Boxer: DeVore, U.S. Army Reserve lieutenant colonel, former Reagan Administration official, and the leading spear-carrier on the right in Sacramento on issues ranging from the pro-life cause to slashing the size of government to nuclear power.

“Fearless Peerless”

It is hard to find a California conservative activist who doesn’t know or at least know of Chuck DeVore.

The Orange County native has been active in conservative causes and campaigns since he was a teenager and, quite often as an adult, leading them. After stints in the Pentagon under Ronald Reagan and later on the staff of former Rep. Christopher Cox (R.-Calif.), he spent several years working for a defense contractor in Orange County.

Two years ago, DeVore, a frequent contributor to HUMAN EVENTS, was seeking a conservative candidate and became the first California Republican office-holder to back Fred Thompson for President. Now in his third term as a state legislator, DeVore defied liberal Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s call for a record-high tax increase in ’09 and later campaigned vigorously against the tax hike when it was on the statewide ballot. (The proposal lost resoundingly, forcing Schwarzenegger and the Democratic leadership in the state legislature to make spending cuts to balance the budget.)

DeVore went as far as to resign his position in the Assembly GOP leadership to protest the tax increase. “Fearless Peerless”—the nickname applied in Allen Drury’s epic novel Capable of Honor, to fictional President Harley Hudson for his courage against the odds—could easily be applied to DeVore.

Chuck DeVore for U.S. Senate 2010

It looks like Chuck is gaining ground in the polls. A recent Orange county polls showed him leading Fiorina and only slightly behind Campbell who still has failed to sign on to the pledge to Repeal Obamacare. He also has a lifetime ACU rating of 55%, opposed SDI, supported funding UN population control, and didn't have any problem publicly opposing Prop 8. We have a choice conservatives in these last weeks. Let's help DeVore over the finish line. If you have a blog write about DeVore and about his opponents poor records as conservatives. He can win. He won't have any problem with funding once he wins the primary. Right now two soft big money Republicans are trying to run us an the Tea Parties off the board. Let's show em and the NRSC who encouraged Campbell to switch races and screw conservatives once again.

California is such a waste land of nonsense. Who knows what will happen. The “conservative” Republicans could just not get enough of Schwartzenkennedy and now just look at this mess. I’m sorry but I do not trust ANYONE!! Even the Republicans are pretty much a joke. I walked precincts and supported Tom McClintock for governor against Schwartzenkennedy and was called a fool by the Republicans. Who are fools now?

If you wish to help DeVore, get some help with that paragraph.

For example, it is unclear who has the 55%, etc.

This is great news. But, the Indiana primary is this Tuesday. We need conservatives to rally around Marlin Stutzman ASAP! Otherwise we’re stuck with the RINO Establishment pick Dan Coats.

DeVore is our man. Campbell has not a conserva-
tive bone in his body and Carli needs to sharp-
en her skills and develop some conservative
street cred for a battle w/Feinstein a couple
of years out.

Abel Maldenado caved on the budget, and it got him Lt. Governor, right?

Most people don’t understand “high finance” which is what big government has become.

When the last lender withdraws, the old fashioned stuff hits the budget-balancing fan.

BTT!!!

Now, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, instead of defending California is condemning Arizona.

CALIFORNIA!!! WAKE UP!!! Send a fax free to Arnold and tell him to defend his CITIZENS!

Enjoy and share with everyone. Let’s give the arrogant Babs as much coverage as possible. She earned it and deserves it.

What? I’m for DeVore, but an ACU Rating of 55 is NOT that high; an ACU rating of 80 or higher is a good solid Conservative. But then, he does live in California.

Brown/whitman/poizner will all be Arnold’s 3rd term. Barf. What I really want is for Boxer to be referred to as Former Senator Boxer, goodness knows how hard she has worked for that title.

HERE IS A GREAT CAMPAIGN STRATEGY FOR DEVORE:

He needs to come out strongly in favor of Arizona’s Immigration Law and urge Gov. Schwartzenkennedy to follow the lead of Governor Brewer of Arizona.

If he does that, he’ll climb 5 percentage points in the polls.

The 55 ACU rating is for Tom Campbell not Chuck Devore. The ACU only rates members of Congress. Campbell has served in the U.S. House. Devore has never been in Congress.
