If you take one of those little doggie life vests, attach a 2’ steel leader to it with a large hook on the other end, and put it on one of these little dogs, they make excellent live bait when fishing for citation sized Chinook salmon. You just clip your fishing line to the loop where the leash goes, and when the little guys swim, the action really brings the big ones in...
I’ve seen some guys make over sized spinners for this rig too...it really adds a lot when using a short hair breed like chihuahuas, but if you rig up a medium sized Yorkie instead, especially if they have really long hair, you don’t need the spinner...

My Chihuahua is a Rottie in mind and spirit. She'd have nothing to do with racing unless she was chasing after a potential threat to report on them. Good little watch dog.
