Its no secret that we, here, at DefenseReview are VERY BIG Glock pistol proponents. For us, when it comes to pistols, its pretty much either Glock (9mm Parabellum a.k.a. 9×19mm NATO) or 1911 (9mm, 40 S&W, and .45 ACP) pistols when it comes to carry and competition applications. In fact, for tactical use, our first choice is a Glock 19 (G19), Glock 17 (G17), or Glock 34 (G34), depending on the mission-specific requirements/parameters, and our second choice is a custom single-stack or double-stack/hi-cap 1911 pistol built by pistolsmith Bob Marvel of Bob Marvel Guns (BMG) / Marvel Custom Pistols (MCP) (We should note that we also like the HK P7M13 and P7M8 squeeze-cocker pistols with quality jacketed factory ammo (115gr or higher), but the P7M13 is relatively heavy compared to the G19, and it gets hot pretty quickly under rapid fire at fairly low round count.).
So, being the Glock fans we are, we really enjoyed getting to view and handle Lone Wolfs new aftermarket 1911-style polymer grip frame for the Glock 17/22 (G17/22) pistolswhich can also be applied to the Glock 24 (G24) and Glock 34/35 (G34/35) pistolsat the tail end of SHOT Show 2010. It features a 1911-style and angled grip, extended beavertail tang, removable/replaceable/modular backstrap for different hand shapes and sizes, and Mil-Std-1913 dust cover rail system for mounting tactical white light and laser modules. The beavertail assists with recoil management/muzzle rise reduction and eliminates slide bite for people who utilize a high griplike myself, for instance. I get bitten by the (Glock) slide all the time.
Anyway, the product looked and felt great in the hand. Its a particularly great idea for 1911 owners/shooters who want grip angle consistency between their 1911s and Glocks,

If youre a Glock owner/user like us, youll definitely want to read them!
NICE!!!!
I’ll continue to stick with my Beretta 92F & HK USP .45 Tactical. I’m not fond of either the Glock or the 1911, though I do acknowledge that they are VERY nice handguns. They just aren’t my first preference. I’m also a big fan of Springfield XDs.
Both great guns and well worth the cost. But if you don't have all that money and still need a good, low-cost, guaranteed, American-made firearm, check out Hi-Point.
Made In America Lifetime Warranty
All Hi-Point firearms carry a lifetime, no-questions asked warranty. Whether you are the original purchaser, or a third-hand owner, your Hi-Point firearm will be repaired free of charge.
If you own or have fired a Hi-Point, leave me a comment and give us a review!
I think it has more to do with the grip size and angle than the actual looks of the thing.
I think it is F.U.G.L.Y.....
LoL
You either like Glocks or you don’t.
Apparently.
I bought my GLOCK 19 (9 mm)a month or so ago.....I liked it soooo much that I am buying a GLOCK 20 (10 mm) next month.
I was, as you can guess, really impressed with my GLOCK on the range.
I like Glocks. I don’t like that thing.
I cant understand what purpose the beavertail has on a striker fired weapon,
What is that thing on the barrel? Compensator for gangsta shooters?
What an abortion. I build custom 1911’s. That obscenity in the picture is the worst of all worlds.
It’s either a Glock, or it isn’t. It’s either a 1911, or it isn’t.
Never the twain shall meet.
Yup.
The 1911 is beautiful.
I was eager to see a picture of this pistol, until I saw a picture of it. The beaver tail makes it look like someone put a non-matching frame on the gun. It’s ugly. Between this and some of the ugly squared off cars I see people driving around, it makes me wonder just what the heck they’re teaching in design and engineering schools these days.
