Is that the actual car that was stolen?
I guess so, I went back to the origional story link.
Unfortunately she will receive a fine and a cease to drive order form the Obama EPA soon.
Thanks. I didn’t notice the hyperlink to the Daily News article in the posted article.
Here is a direct link to it:
That doesn’t look like a V-8 stuffed in there- more like a tricked-out 4 cylinder.
When my car got was stolen, I got it back with NO wheels, windows broken out, nothing left inside and the steering column busted. It was found in East St. Louis....blocked up on a side street.
Looks like they took the windsheild wipers though!
If she had been paid off under her comprehensive portion of her policy the insurance company would own the car. However, they still have to offer the vehicle back to the owner.
FYI, I had a car stolen from the repair shop. It was in for a new clutch @ 91m miles. I was paid by the auto repair insurance company for about $1000 more than it was worth. The vehicle was recovered about 3 months later. The insurance company still offered me the vehicle back. I had aready purchased a replacement with the money they had given me. They stated they were required to offer the vehicle back to the origin owner.
I have seen that show. I would thank them for the work. Then have the bunch arrested for grand theft and impersonating police officers.
we have a 78 and an 83 GMC Sierra and the 83 has the camper on it and a 90 Mazda 626 and B2200...plus a boneyard!
I couldn’t even tell you what has what inside any of the engines anymore...I lost track and just let him do his thing.
I got doors and hoods in my basement, actually ‘his’ basement...I don’t even go down there anymore!
Last fall, I had a deer hanging from the rafters for a day in my basement and had to listen to the saw all day long....my house is like Green Acres-honestly-cause I’m from the city and I married a hillbilly!
Love makes you crazy I guess...
Yeah, looks like a Buick to me? lol
I had a car stolen from me about 15 years ago when I was living in Charleston, SC. It ended up in Queens, NY all stipped down. Some shady tow company who had it sent me a bill for $1000+ about a year after it was stolen. I work for a lawfirm so, long story short, I didn’t pay them a dime (who would?) and got my POS car back.
I was relying on what was said in the news story. I'm no expert on rice burners.
Buick made some very small displacement V-8's and V-6's back in the 1960's.
The engine shown in this picture doesn't look like, say, a Chevy 350 or Dodge 318. It's just too small.
After a closer look it apears to be a Hond V-Tec 4 that they like to steal.
An old neighbor did something similar. He used to drag race for money. Had a primer grey Pacer or Gremlin if I recall. It had a 426 wedge under the hood.
Yep. To short to be a V8.
I had to laugh when I saw the article’s comment that they had put a V-8 in an Accord.
It could be done (I’ve personally seen a Miata with a Corvette LS-1 small block), but what a tight squeeze!
