The Polish word for a Polish person is Polak (masculine) and Polka (feminine); however, when the masculine form of this common noun is used in the English language (usually spelled as Polack) it is always offensive.
This is another example of political correctness going too far.
IMHO, it's pretty obvious that Millen used the word "Polak" and not "Polack", so no apology was necessary.
Cripes, the next thing you know the PC Taliban will be trying to stop the Too Fat Polka from being played at weddings. As if a babushka was some kind of Polish burqa or something. Sheeeesh....
“Cripes, the next thing you know the PC Taliban will be trying to stop the Too Fat Polka from being played at weddings”
...the Mormons have already stopped “Beer Barrel Polka”! :0
I heard ESPN had some pretty bad coverage on the draft. If Rush Limbaugh would have said that they’d fired him on the spot.
I my language (English) addressing me by anything except “Master” is offensive. I also am deeply offended if people don’t bow, and leave offerings. People who speak English are exempted from these rituals — for them, “yo” or “hey bud” are acceptable.
LOLski
I remember years ago when Jaworski was quarterbacking against Steve Bartkowski, and all the sports people called it the ‘Pole Bowl’.
I think the Poles in Michigan are more offended by his poor draft skills and wonder what he was doing on ESPN’s draft coverage to begin with.
First thing ESPN will have to do is confiscate Wash's sunflower seeds before he walks into the studio.
