Seal lions can use their front flippers to move around on land. Seals can not.
I was reading that. The differences are relatively small, but interesting.
Actually that's: sealions can use their rear flippers and are reasonably mobile on land.
Seals can use only their front flippers to drag themselves along on their bellies. They cannot climb stairs, or move at any speed on land or ice, no matter how strong the motivation.
