“Yet far too many Palin supporters feel the need to defend her campaigning for a man that stabbed her in the back repeatedly.”
Yeah she should have turned that offer to be VP down, guaranteeing that there would be no conservative candidate in 2012...hey, just give it to Romney.
Anybody who can’t see the rationale for her support for McCain is a political fringer or just lacking in general intelligence.
It was you who implied that a VP must go along with whatever stance the Presidential candidate takes, like amnesty for example.
In my choice for a candidate, how they deal with illegal immigration is huge, always has been. For something that is so crucial to me, a stance of go along to get along does not cut it. I want my candidate to put National Security FIRST! I want a candidate that has the stones to day it out loud that there is NO PATH TO CITIZENSHIP if you are here illegally. I want my candidate to say build a fence! You cannot have an open border, virtual fencing, sanctuary cities, etc and say you are tough on National Security! I am not a single issue voter but that is a huge issue for me and not one I am willing to bend on.
