Pot makes people stupid. I know potheads. They are much dumber than they were 10 years ago.

And do you think that drunks are any smarter?

The use of alcohol has far more profound and lasting effects, not only on the brain but also the whole body. It can destroy lives and would never make it past the FDA if it were discovered today. And yet I don't see anyone advocating alcohol prohibition.

"Potheads", like drunks, are the exception not the norm of users.

“The problem being the results are unreliable.”

As they are to greater or lesser degrees with every drug, legal or otherwise. I would expect widespread legalization for medical use to result in dosage calibration, increasing the reliability of results.

Almost everyone I knew in college smoked marijuana at least a few times.

Thanks for your thoughts, we are supporting her as best we can. She is doing pretty well, all things considered.

Let me ask this:

A. What medicine actually cures anything?

B. Kids, Children should not have access to it anymore than they should have access to alcohol.

The proper Conservative position on marijuana use is to leave it up to the States to formulate their own policies on it. California has done so.

The people on this board who want the Feds to stop it are the worst sort of anti-Constitutional liberals.

Many people do want the mind altering effect of the drug in much the same way you want an expected effect from Soma, Vicodin, etc, that have specific effects to the condition as well the mind and sometimes a person may require both.

No, I don’t touch the stuff. Just have friends who have used it for relief and these are people who I wouldn’t expect to use marijuana but, for their condition.

One friend will receive all her meals and nutrition through a pic line, intravenously for the rest of her life. Why? Cancer and the cure burned her insides so horribly her stomach was destroyed. She still suffers from the pain of the cure, has tried many “prescribed” solutions and found some helpful, with side effects that were intolerable and other prescribed solutions that did little or nothing to alleviate her symptoms.

Were it not for the cancer and the debilitating effects of the many cures she suffered as a result, she would not take a thing. Never even took an aspirin until her cancer.

I have probably a good 20 stories of friends with conditions we wouldn’t wish on anyone but they are alive and I say more power to them.

I have not seen they are prescribing it to children but if the child had the same disease as an adult, should their care be entirely different? Substandard? Subjective?

pot is not care. This is like folk medicine or peyote or a shaman.

California has descended to the level of a 3rd world backwater if they actually think its medicine.

Sorry for your friend and good for her. Oxy is a one heck of a Barbitch-u-ate.

Reminds me of a joke:

Bear walks into a bar, says to the bartender “Gimme a drink”…

The bartender says “hey, we don’t serve animals in here”…

The bear says “gimme a drink or I’ll eat this woman right here”…

The bartender still refuses, and the bear eats the woman right up. “Gimme a drink, now”, he says.

The bartender, steadfast, says “we don’t serve drug addicts!”

The bear seems taken aback, “Who you calling a drug addict?”

The bartender: “You’re kidding right? That was a bar bitch you ate”

(say the last line out loud if you don’t get it)

So a drunk driver will kill, while a driver high on marijuana will miss his exit.

What say you about Oxycontin, Cigarettes and Booze? Not taken together mind you. (shudder)

Apparently the Fed Gov thinks they do. Under the compassionate use act two women grew for their own consumption. Not to sell, trade or give away.

So here come the feds prosecuting these two women and how do the feds support a fed charge? ICC! That’s right. Apparently the seed had it’s progenitor from out of state which meant that it’s “DNA” crossed state lines, essentially.

I know many extraordinarily successful people who use marijuana and I have not seen any ill effect on them.

These people employ hundreds and a few, thousands of people, have private jet money and are otherwise corporate conservative types.

Trust me they are anything but dumb or even slow. Democrats, yes, but not dumb or slow.

Potheas are the exception, just as alcoholics are the exception to people who drink
