A New York Times/CBS News poll found that a majority of Americans, 52 percent, think the policies of President Barack Obama are moving the United States toward socialism
Published April 14, the poll surveyed the political, racial, and social opinions of both the general pubic and self-described members of the tea party movement. It found that while tea party participants are generally more conservative than the broader population, they are also better educated and slightly more successful.
The poll found that almost the entirety of the tea party movement – 92 percent – shared the views of most Americans that Obama was turning the United States into a socialist country.
The poll asked respondents specifically whether the president’s policies “are moving the country more toward socialism.” Fifty-two percent answered “toward socialism” while only 38 percent answered “not toward socialism.”

48% of people have no idea what socialism is or what this administration has done.
The other 48% have no idea what the word “Socialism” means.
Number seems a little low considering Tea Party attendance and current popularity polls for zero and the Dem-run Congress.
In other news, 48% of Americans pick their nose and eat it.
Real Clear Politics is predicting a 100+ seat loss in the House for the Socialists..I mean Democrats.
They think it means going to Happy Hour to hang with your friends.
I can’t see how a lesser loss is possible. The latest actions taken against the citizenry in the US will bring people out in droves to vote, folks who normally don’t vote. The HR and Senate are not representing the people who elected them, taxes are higher, freedoms are reduced, government is in the way and the MSM are/look like fools to report otherwise.
People will simply not tolerate their freedoms, their own future and the future of their children and grand-children being taken away without a fight. If that fight at the ballot box is successful, good for us. If its not, there will be bloodshed, its as simple as that and as predictable as the sunrise.
The debate is not over whether Obama and Pelosi are moving our country toward socialism but over whether they are steering us toward national socialism, toward soviet socialism, or in the direction of some new compromise with the worst of both totalitarian ideologies.
Have the other 48% been out of the country for awhile?
