PHOENIX -- A Valley man has some surprising visitors in his attic -- a family of bobcats.
Fred Greenshaw does not go to his attic often, but he went up there to grab an ice cream maker for his daughter's birthday. Instead, he found himself looking straight into the eyes of a bobcat.
"I heard that real low growl so I stopped what I was doing and I climbed back down," Greenshaw said.
He says he also heard something coming from behind some boxes.
"I could hear a baby crying," he said.

This does not look like a bobcat to me. It looks like a mountain lion hybrid to me. Bobcats have tufts on their ears and pronounced fur on their cheeks. Take a look at the other picts.

Maybe. My thought was that the mom has lost a lot of weight giving birth and now nursing her young. She probably hasn’t eaten a meal herself in some time. If she were in my attic, my husband would have to stop me from putting some meat and water up there for her. I’m such a softy.

Are we getting our bobcat/lynx/hybrids mixed up again? We had a thread during the Vancouver Olympics with a similar discussion.

Well, most (all?) of the AZ ones are bobcats.
We don't have an attic, but we have had bobcats nesting on our garage roof - we just leave them alone.
While they are there, we don't have a pack rat problem...:^)
