It’s one of the aluminum bodied macbooks from last year. I bought it for my wife. I decided to try to use it so I could help her with her work more efficiently, I finally gave up.

Now the thing is cord bound and my wife is using a Win 7 netbook computer until she can get to the Apple store to get the battery changed. She hates windows but is starting to appreciate Word.

Word is about the only thing I like from MSFT so I'm simpatico with your wife on the issue :-)

Was it hardware issues or software issues with the Mac? It's very strange the battery should die in a year. I have a MacBook Pro from 2006 still running on the original battery without any issues.
