The only problem with Cesar Milan is that everyone thinks they are him and could be as good a pack leader of pits as he is...The professional always makes it look easy...I have also seen him break up a fight between 2 pits on 2 different shows....you should try it sometime if you have the balls and attitude for it..no one on this site can even come close to being him, they just think they can...
I’ve broken up Dobe fights.
It’s not that different.
Pits do NOT have magical “locking jaws” and their jaws have a *much* weaker bite than a Dobermann.
[in fact, if by some bizarre turn of events, I ~had~ to make a choice between being attacked by a pit or a Dobe, I’d take the pit, hands down]
I stand in awe of the man and wouldn’t even dare to compare myself to him.
I admire his work, watch his show some times but oddly enough, never buy his books.
There are more concise and well-written books on dog behavior and positive reinforcement available.
Milan is *great* on TV but his methods don’t particularly translate well into the written word.
He understands what we keep trying to reiterate here: they are DOGS.
They do *not* have motives/agendas/conscious murderous thoughts.
They are DOGS acting like DOGS.
He trains the -people-; not the dogs, because, to a fault, it’s the people who are screwing up.
