I’ve broken up Dobe fights.
It’s not that different.
Pits do NOT have magical “locking jaws” and their jaws have a *much* weaker bite than a Dobermann.
[in fact, if by some bizarre turn of events, I ~had~ to make a choice between being attacked by a pit or a Dobe, I’d take the pit, hands down]
I stand in awe of the man and wouldn’t even dare to compare myself to him.
I admire his work, watch his show some times but oddly enough, never buy his books.
There are more concise and well-written books on dog behavior and positive reinforcement available.
Milan is *great* on TV but his methods don’t particularly translate well into the written word.
He understands what we keep trying to reiterate here: they are DOGS.
They do *not* have motives/agendas/conscious murderous thoughts.
They are DOGS acting like DOGS.
He trains the -people-; not the dogs, because, to a fault, it’s the people who are screwing up.
Dobe are one regal looking dog...
