Lt. Col. Walt Pritchard was a combat casualty 41 years ago this week.

Walt Pritchard was born 2 weeks before me and lived a stone's throw away. We went to school together and in 1952 I joined the USAF and he got an appointment to West Point.

He was destined for stars on his collar when he was shot down in a chopper in the war zone 41 years ago Monday.
