Obama Slanders, Abandons Israel
newsmax.com ^ | April 12, 2010 | Edward Koch

I weep as I witness outrageous verbal attacks on Israel. What makes these verbal assaults and distortions all the more painful is that they are being orchestrated by President Obama.

For me, the situation today recalls what occurred in 70 A.D. when the Roman emperor Vespasian launched a military campaign against the Jewish nation and its ancient capital of Jerusalem.

Ultimately, Masada, a rock plateau in the Judean desert, became the last refuge of the Jewish people against the Roman onslaught. I have been to Jerusalem and Masada. From the top of Masada, you can still see the remains of the Roman fortifications and garrisons, and the stones and earth of the Roman siege ramp that was used to reach Masada.

The Jews of Masada committed suicide rather than let the Romans take them captive.

In Rome itself, I have seen the Arch of Titus with the sculpture showing enslaved Jews and the treasures of the Jewish temple with the menorah, the symbol of the Jewish state, being carted away as booty during the sacking of Jerusalem.

Oh, you may say, that is a far-fetched analogy. Please hear me out.

Well, all are of value to G-D. All are desired by G-D. I presume nothing — He said it Himself. It always was the carrot and stick approach between Him and the Jew. You do this, and I’ll do that. You don’t do this, and let me know how it works out for you. If you want to come back and live by my rules, come in, have a nice glass of tea and we’ll talk. Eddy just found out how it has worked out for him. Hopefully, he’ll want to come back and have that tea.

I believe that truth to be in their hands, and Britain’s MI-6. I hope there is still a game when they decide to play the card..

So, you’re saying that the nation of Israel will be punished because a former mayor of NY is not actively religious and voted for the wrong man?

Every day Obama is looking like the *devil* he acts like one, he is behaving like one...

If he is ever proven to be Satan, I am sure most will not be shocked.

So THIS is why he has been hiding his birth certificate!

Wow. That’s a leap. I’m saying secular Jews have not been as heavily invested from a faith standpoint and, therefore, can’t always see the obvious. Too long a subject for me to go into here.

A secular Jew is as of as much value to G-d as salt that has lost it's flavor.

You're wrong. I used to be a "secular" Jew.

You're absolutely correct that ‘Rat Koch supported “Osama” Obama and the ‘Rat ticket against McCain-Palin in 2008. There's still a lot of atonement for him to do for that egregious misjudgment. I guess in ‘08 he thought he had to return to his Dem addiction after supporting W over Kerry in ‘04.

I am glad President Obama has made such a blatant break with Israel. I am glad for Vice President Joe Biden’s anti-Semitic temper-tantrum, caused by Netanyahu’s failure to serve him Hawaiian Pork that he demanded at a dinner to which he was 90 minutes late. Why? Because George W. Bush, a great friend of Israel and a genuinely sincere person, pressured Ariel Sharon into forcibly removing all Jews from Azah, all in the name of “peace,” and promised that in exchange the US would say nothing about building in existing communities in Judah and Shomron, and as soon as a new administration came into power, that promise went right out the window, along with Obama’s own promise to respect a “united Jerusalem”. Enough. Having the United States as a friend is hazardous to our health. When a new administration comes in, in either 2012 or 2016, we can become genuine friends again. In the interim, the people of Israel and the people of the United States can perpetuate our mutual affections, but as for this administration, forget it. We’ve been abused enough.

Look, I know Koch supported Obama. And because he’s a prominent guy, he may have influenced other people to vote Obama too.

But he gets it NOW. It’s too late to go back to 2008. But we still need as many prominent Jews to write about this anti_Israel policy NOW. Let them all come around to see the truth. G-d bless Koch for speaking out now, and let many more like him follow.

We NEED help fighting the Obama admin and protecting real peace, and Israel’s safety.

You were always valued by God. Now, you are of use to Him. Without your hand in His, you were as lost as the rest of the world. As I said, remaining in the secular state was the error. It has caused many to come late to the realization that He is still speaking and warning and protecting. Had Mayor Koch and others both Christian and Jew been “listening” to Him instead of relying on their own thoughts and deeds, they might have recognized that as much as my heart was with the election of our first black president, my head was still attached squarely to my shoulders (Praise God) rather than up another part of my anatomy. All are called — few answer. All he asks is that we know His Will through the Bible and apply it. That has not been honestly done by anyone who is “secular” in nature.

“...used to be” is the operative phrase. No one is criticizing anyone for falling away — it’s staying away that causes me great pain. I hope Koch gets his butt in a synogogue every minute he is available to do so. Happpy is the man who has found that treasure. Koch is such an amiable fellow, he should be very welcome.
