The movie "Quantum of Solace" has nothing to do with the short story and If I was not told it was Bond movie, I would have never guessed it was a Bond film. I guess that Cubby’s heirs have tacitly acknowledged that the Bond series cannot compete with the Transporter movies and with the Matt Damon anti-american tripe.

“The movie “Quantum of Solace” has nothing to do with the short story ...”

Sorry if you misundersood me, but I know the titles of the movies rarely had anything to do with the books/stories. “Live and Let Die”, the film, was based, in part, on an Ian Fleming short story called “007 in New York”.

As far as the QoS movie is concerned, I disliked it at first, but it has grown on me. It suffered from a bad director if you ask me. I thought very highly of “Casino Royale” and it has that Bond feel to it ... I see your point about QoS, but let’s say I dislike it less after seeing it a few times.

I haven’t a clue as to how the Bourne movies did so well. I *tried* to like them, but they’re friggin’ weak.
