“The movie “Quantum of Solace” has nothing to do with the short story ...”
Sorry if you misundersood me, but I know the titles of the movies rarely had anything to do with the books/stories. “Live and Let Die”, the film, was based, in part, on an Ian Fleming short story called “007 in New York”.
As far as the QoS movie is concerned, I disliked it at first, but it has grown on me. It suffered from a bad director if you ask me. I thought very highly of “Casino Royale” and it has that Bond feel to it ... I see your point about QoS, but let’s say I dislike it less after seeing it a few times.
I haven’t a clue as to how the Bourne movies did so well. I *tried* to like them, but they’re friggin’ weak.
Solange was the only thing taken from “007 in New York”. in fact the novel LALD is so old the airport Bond arrives at is called Idlewind. The open sentance from LALD talks about Bond arriving in New York.:)
