Kelley is generally thought of as an "Uh-oh" writer. That is, when she announces she is writing a book about X, the response is "Uh-oh," usually on the part of the subject. For the rest of us, the "Uh-oh" signifies: "This is gonna be good. It may be down and dirty, but it will be true, and it will be good." If there is hidden history to be gotten, Kelley will get it.
Some people belittle her work as muckraking that is perhaps fanciful, if not far-fetched, but that is because they cant believe that there are facts about a famous person which have heretofore not been known. Lets put it this way: Frank Sinatra, when she was writing her book on him, was so, um displeased that he threatened to have her killed. And shes never been sued successfully.
For her biography about Oprah, she did 850 interviews. Eight hundred and fifty! ..... Her work is that of a hybrid researcher/historian, and whatever she writes you can take to the bank. She is in no way an academic, which is probably the reason her books sell in the millions.
The second thing you need to know about this book is that most of the kingpin interviewers in the mainstream media were astonishingly up front about saying they would not help Kitty promote her book because they didnt want to offend Oprah! They didnt even make up excuses; they flat-out said they didnt want to offend Oprah.
What is it, I wonder, that has major television people so afraid of Oprah? It is a question whose answer I look forward to finding in Kelleys book. I will get back to you when Ive read it.

“I knew Doris Day before she was a virgin”. - Frank Sinatra
Kelley’s Oprah biography might be down and dirty, it might be good, but...well, put it this way, I have my doubts that Nancy Reagan and Frank Sinatra were anything more than good friends.
I don’t think publishers want to promote Kelley’s book because they promote all their other books on Oprah. An Oprah endorsement makes a bestseller. If Oprah doesn’t promote their book of the month, they lose tons. So they please Oprah and don’t promote the book.
Answer this after you read and tell us if there are any bombshells!
All of them are. That’s how they get their first breaks don’t you know.
And I had NO idea tht Grace Kelly was a slut, but I only saw her as a very pretty, classy lady that didn't act like Marilyn Monroe slutty.
If I had married a prince, I would raise his children versed in proper behavior too, and I would have told others about the virtues of breastfeeding.
Heck, I did these things and I didn’t marry a prince!
But I was loved by one, once upon a time.
She was. She just managed to ‘keep up appearances.’ She was skilled at PR and the studios paid the tabloids off in droves to keep them from printing about all of her affairs.

Geez, I thought some of the girls I dated were just loose sluts. I didn't know they were aspiring actresses too! lol
Sinatra didnt say that. Oscar Levant did (sometimes its attributed to Groucho Marx)
Grace Kelly was far from trailer trash. She was born into an affluent family. Her father was appointed National Director of Physical Fitness by FDR.
