"A passenger attempted to light an explosive device on board an aircraft from Washington to Denver, sources tell NBC News"

Just heard it on the Fox radio news too. Air marshalls subdued a Qatari man. He’s in custody, flight landed OK in Denver.

I see the new weaker security standard Obama just announced has gone into effect.
Think that idiot will learn or is he hell bent to destroy us all? I think the later, but hope that he’s just the dumbest idiot in the world.

All right yall, It says he is Quatari but no stereotyping is warranted. He is probably one of a tiny group of secret Jehovah’s Witnesses that may exist in Quatar.

ABC News is reporting it as a “shoe bomb” attempt. Confirmed by KMGH-TV, ABC’s local affiliate in Denver. CNN, in typical fashion, is suppressing this story in favor of VA Governor Bob McDonnell’s proclamation of “Confederate History Month.”
Fox isn’t doing much better...Greta is talking with various state pols about ObamaCare lawsuits. She must be on tape; Fox is always at a disadvantage when its evening hosts aren’t live, and they have to scramble to cover breaking news.
Twenty years ago, CNN would have dumped out of regular programming and aired live coverage from one of the Denver stations. These days, the story doesn’t matter until one of their reporters or anchors appears on camera. One more reason the network is deadmeat in the cable wars.

MSN will tell us that the apprehended prisoner was former president George Bush out for jealous revenge against Barack Obama’s glorious success.
Millions will believe.

Federal air marshals subdued a man who authorities say attempted to "light his shoes on fire" on a United flight from Washington Reagan to Denver Wednesday night, federal law enforcement officials told ABC News. Authorities say an explosive team is on the way to the airport, and that while the presence of explosives has not yet been confirmed, they believe it was an attempted "shoe bomb." The suspect was identified by authorities as a diplomat in the Qatar embassy in Washington, Mohammed al Modadi. The FBI said the man had full diplomat immunity as the 3rd secretary and vice-consul.

If the guy has ‘full diplomatic immunity’ is he immune from prosecution if tries to blow up a plane? I think not, but maybe he thought so.

I guess since the underwear thing didn't work, the Jihadis are back to lighting their sneakers, which didn't work either.
What's next?

In a normal world, all diplomats from qatar would be on a no fly list from now on. But no. Instead we’ll step up fingernail clipper confiscations from little old ladies from idaho.

OK, if true it's probably the Amish or the Quakers. Methinks we need to "target" those two groups. Right, Madame Sec. of Homeland Security?
