WASHINGTON - In openly personal terms, President Barack Obama on Tuesday honored the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, saying he draws inspiration from an eternal story of pain, suffering and redemption.
"We are thankful for the sacrifice he gave for the sins of humanity, and we glory in the promise of redemption in the resurrection," Obama told Christian leaders from around the country at an Easter prayer breakfast at the White House.

"...he draws inspiration from an eternal story of pain, suffering and redemption."
Almost sounds like he's referring to the American taxpayer.

someone should tell PMSNBC when referring to Christ it is HE, not he- though they probably did it to purposely insult Christians...

saying he draws inspiration from an eternal story of pain, suffering and redemption. A far cry from saying have mercy on me a sinner.

I’d like to hear a personal testimony; that would be interesting. It sounds like he’s implying that redemption is accomplished for one and all with no need for a faith commitment.

With all the recent talk about Glenn Beck and Jim Wallis, it's important to remember that the Democrats hired Jim Wallis after the 2004 election to "teach" them how to speak "religion." If you recall, the exit polls in 2004 identified what they called "values voters." The Democrats hired Wallis to help them reach out to "values voters" with Leftist language that was couched in religiousity.
Wallis is still heavily involved with the Democrats and their messaging.

I’m thinking it wasn’t capitalized in Obama’s notes either.

Actually, contrary to popular belief, the King James Version doesn’t capitalize deity pronouns.

And Obama is incapable of discussing Christianity.
