My screen name, 5by5, harks back to the days of analog radio communication.

I remember those days when someone would call in for a radio check, tweak it a little and call in again. It got so that our reply was "2by2". They'd invariably come back and ask "2by2?"

My answer was:

2 Loud, and

2 Often

I accidently misquoted Nathan Hale “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country”. There is doubt as to the actual words of the quote. I decided to keep it as is.

FReeper Delmont assisted....when I was in the fish biz, we carried "Batavia" label Australian lobster tails, and Del got a kick out the name.

The Ern part also comes from Delmont....he had a pet goat that looked like Sammy Davis, Jr........it was named Ernie.
