Yeah, I think he is forcing it. The judges seem to forget just how powerful Elvis’ version was - the King vocally glissando’d 2 octaves in a single musical phrase in that song!

But if you do forget the original then this wasn’t bad, if forced.

I loved Taylor Hick’s music, still do.

He’s starring in Grease, I think, and doing pretty well, financially.
