Sounds like “discostu” took you apart and took names to me.

Windows users may think so, because of their vested interests in their beige boxes ... but anyone who has a Macintosh already knows...

You can't change the experience of these Macintosh users and what they know from their own experience, just from someone saying something different that Windows users like to parrot... LOL ...

I've always said, over the years, if you want to make money as a computer repairman, you better forget about working on Macintosh computers... because "Windows" is where the repairs are at ... LOL ...

Take it up with Apple, they know their stuff breaks, sorry you can’t seem to wrap your head around that very simple fact. We’re done until you get a map to reality.

Well, I'm sorry if you can't wrap your head around the fact that Windows is where all the "money" is at for repairs... I mean, if I'm advising someone how to really "make money repairing computers" -- I would be a big liar to tell them to go to Macintosh... they would come back and shoot me in a year... doncha know.

But, if I tell them, "Go to Windows".... they'll come back in a year and thank me profusely for directing them to the right spot for making money... :-)

Stop lying. I never once said anything about whether or not PCs break and whether or not one could make money fixing. ALL I said was that Macs, just like everything else made by humans, break and need to be repaired, and that enough companies out there do it that clearly money CAN be made fixing them. That’s what I said, and if you say I said anything else you are lying. Do not lie about what I said.

He did take you apart fair and square. But hey, you maybe be too deaf and blind to have seen it.

I don't have to see what he did -- all I have to see is what my computers do... and that's why I said you're not going to make money being a Macintosh repairman, unless you want to be like the "Maytag guy" doncha know ... LOL ...

And I find the same thing from other Macintosh users, too. I've been around them for a real long time and they all tell me that stuff is built real good and they don't have repair problems.

So, what can someone else tell me that I don't already know from my own experience over 25 years and from mixing with a whole lot of Macintosh people?

Not much, because I know what happens with these Macintosh computers...

What “vested interest you talking about dude?

I'm talking about the "nattering nabobs of negativity" that always infest any Macintosh thread, because they don't like the good user experience that Macintosh users have...

You see it all the time around here... it's nothing new ... :-)

Chortle! That's why Apple has a very long list of people who repair broken Macs

They've got a list of Maytag repairmen too... they have second jobs, doncha know ... LOL ...

As I said, if you want to do something "on the side" with Macintosh, as a hobby, that may be one thing -- but -- if you want to "make money" (as in make a living) -- a person is a whole lot better off repairing the crapware of Windows beige knock-off boxes... :-)

Sure you do, or you wouldn't have gotten into an argument with him, and get badly beaten.

I'm talking about the “nattering nabobs of negativity” that always infest any Macintosh thread”

You mean like the Apple jihadst pinheads like you, who infest every single Windows thread on every single tech site on the internet?

And they break down just like Apple Macs do.

You were saying ...

Sure you do, or you wouldn't have gotten into an argument with him, and get badly beaten.

LOL ... you can't get beat on what you know directly... it doesn't work that way. I've already got the direct experience on it and I've already got the direct interaction from other Macintosh people and users -- and you don't get beat on what "happens" directly in front of your face.

Now, the other guy may think he's done it -- but that's why I say the Macintosh people already know that -- with Macintosh and how good they are and how they hold up. And it's been a long-standing joke in the community that the repairmen would be like the Maytag guy.

As far as getting into an argument with him -- of course -- because I've got the direct experience and I've got the contacts within the Macintosh community. I already know differently.

You mean like the Apple jihadst pinheads like you, who infest every single Windows thread on every single tech site on the internet?

I think you've got that one backward. You look on these threads here and you'll find the Windows users promoting their crapware on Macintosh threads ... LOL ..

It would appear that they can't stand Macintosh users having such a good experience with their computers and equipment.

Hey! It happens all the time here... and this thread is the perfect example, as it's not a Windows thread, but a Macintosh thread ... LOL ...

And they break down just like Apple Macs do.

That's another one I would say... don't get into a business where you can't make money on repairs... doncha know.

Hey! I'm all for repairmen "making money" -- and if you're advising one as to what "business" to get into -- don't advise them to get into the Macintosh repair business or you'll be doing them a real big disfavor. Recommend to them to get into fixing the beige crapware Windows boxes -- and they'll thank you profusely for your wisdom ... LOL ...

On Mars perhaps. This happens to be real life.

Naaah..., it's the Windows crapware users that I find end up on Mars, doncha know ...

Heck! They can't even manage to get anything going on their own Windows threads, so they have to come into Macintosh threads like chattering magpies and tell Macintosh users (the ones who already know how well their machines are, you see...) and tell them that they're completely mistaken in the impression that they have about those machines they've been using for years ... LOL ...

That's from Mars... doncha know....

I think you've got that one backward. “

Naah. Every single Windows thread is infested by Apple jihadists on every tech site on the internet, even sites that only deal with Windows. What are Mac jihadists doing trolling Windows sites?

Naaah..., it's the Windows crapware users that I find end up on Mars,”

Is that why after over 30 years in business, Apple still has less than 4% market share in the personal computer business worldwide, and Windows PC's continue to grab over 92% of all personal computers sold on the planet? Consumers worldwide, are too darn smart to waste their hard earned money, on Apple's overpriced junk.

LOL ... I've got more fingers on my hand than the Mac OS X has any viruses that infect the Macintosh computers ... :-)

On the other hand, the Windows platform has over 100,000 viruses and worms that actually do infect those machines and cause damage.

Heck! You may not know it -- but one of the biggest discussions that Macintosh users have about viruses -- is whether they should even bother with ever getting an anti-virus program.

I've had those Macintosh computers for over 25 years and in that length of time, I've had exactly "one" virus, and that was back in 1990... LOL ...

And I've been one of those who has run anti-virus programs (all during that time). I can't even get that thing to "beep" at me. It sometimes gets me to wonder if it's actually there, and so I run a test to find out that it actually is.

Good luck in even getting Macintosh people to consider getting an Anti-Virus program. It's like "Why bother? Nothing happens -- ever!" ... :-)

I go to some sites sometimes just to see if I can get infected (when someone here has said "There's a problem with this site!". I can't even get that to happen ... LOL ...

Let's put it this way, Microsoft Security Essentials is part of Windows 7 OS security. The only reason Microsoft couldn't bundled it with Windows 7 is because of anti-trust complaints that were launched by the security software vendors just before Windows 7 was launched.
Apple doesn't have to worry about anti-trust because their market share is too tiny.

I already have ....for 2 years, and the results are the same, Window 7 security is rock solid.
To start off with the security holes in the Mac have nothing to do with anti-virus. It's a fundamental design flaw. Microsoft perfected that security technology over 3 years ago.

Apple missed a golden opportunity to lock down Snow Leopard when it again failed to fully implement security technology that Microsoft perfected nearly three years ago in Windows Vista.

The security hole that Miller says Apple ignored, according to Computerworld, is address space layout randomization (ASLR) which “randomly assigns data to memory to make it tougher for attackers to determine the location of critical operating system functions, and thus make it harder for them to craft reliable exploits.”

Oh... Apple doesn't have to bundle anything else with it, in the way of any Anti-virus protection... the users haven't ever wanted it. Nothing happens to the Mac OS X that way.

But, I see that Windows apparently thinks it's necessary with their system, eh? :-)
