New Orleans Police Officers shot and killed a pitbull tonight as it was attacking a 5-year-old girl.
The incident happened in the 5500 block of Warrington in Gentilly.
Officials say the little girl was playing basketball in the neighborhood when a pitbull chased her into a backyard and attacked her.

I was attacked by a pit bull as a kid. But I got my bicycle between him and me and stuck rolled up newspapers in his face to latch onto until I could get away.

That was using an *example* of broad-brush stereotyping to make a salient point.
On the upside, you momentarily felt the outrage of being summarily included within a fictitious group for which you may not automatically qualify.
